Even Sherlock Holmes Could Not Unlock This Mysterious Puzzle

We sometimes find something difficult to identify. Perhaps we are looking through some old boxes in the attic or maybe through a toolbox that hasn’t been cleaned out in many years.

It was a toolbox that yielded the following unusual item and people had difficulty figuring out what it was used for. It looked similar to a pair of pliers but one side of it had a rotating wheel with spokes. Those spokes will go into a hole that was on the other side of the tool.

When you find something like this, you may have some questions as to how it was used or perhaps, how you would be able to use it in your own life. Some of these items, such as an antique cheese slicer that we talked about the other day can be very beneficial. This tool, however, is not often used any longer.

It took some time for it to be identified, but somebody finally said that it was used for punching holes in leather. Think about how you might have to punch a hole in a leather belt and sometimes, you may even need to add a hole, especially if you are putting on some weight.

This is one of those tools that may have been common 50 or 60 years ago but these days, other tools are used instead. It would still work just fine and many people who work with leather like to use something similar, but very few people would be able to identify it.
