Concerned Citizen Works With Cops To Bust People Passing School Bus Illegally

There are certain rules that all of us need to follow and sometimes, we may be reminded about those rules in a way that does not necessarily suit us. For example, in the United States, we drive on the right side of the road. We also follow some basic rules, such as the speed limit and although we may bend the rules, we realize that there is a consequence if we are caught doing so. Perhaps one of the more serious rules in place is to stop when a school bus has stopped and has red flashing lights.

Monica Douglas is a resident of Pasco County and she was tired of watching drivers fly by the school bus when it was stopped with the red lights flashing so she decided to do something about it. She took out her camera and began recording the people who were violating the driving law. The footage was of school buses with stop bars extended and flashers on while streams of cars were passing by as if it was perfectly fine to do so. She then sent the footage to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Department and asked them to get involved.

As it turns out, they did get involved and Douglas was there to shoot a video of the entire event. The school buses were stopped with their stop bars extended and flashers on and the cars were driving by but this time, the police were waiting for them.

You can hear Douglas on the video celebrating and it is not only a happy moment for her, it is also an important moment for the children. After all, some children have even been killed by drivers who decided to ignore this law.

The lesson here for all of us is to obey the traffic laws and in particular, to stop for school buses when they have their red lights flashing. It only takes a moment but it could save a life. At the very least, it could save you some money.
