What You Should Know Before Buying Walmart’s Rotisserie Chicken

If there’s one thing that many of us are interested in today, it’s saving money on food. It seems as if the food prices just continue to rise, and that is why many of us turn to Walmart and their rotisserie chickens.

If you have been interested in spending under five dollars for rotisserie chicken, you can find it at Walmart and they have them there constantly. There are a few things that you might want to know, however, before you pull out your wallet and start buying the chicken for yourself.

First of all, if the rotisserie chicken is relatively small, then you are going to be receiving only a small amount of meat. On some chickens, you will be spending five dollars for less than 2 pounds of chicken. That isn’t a lot of meat considering you can get a lot more at other locations, such as Sam’s Club.

Another thing to consider is the quality of the chicken. Walmart and Sam’s Club are owned by the same company but you are not getting the same quality of rotisserie chicken from both stores.

When you purchase a Sam’s Club chicken, you will be getting 3 pounds of bird but at Walmart, you are going to be getting a lot less. Costco also offers more chicken for the money.

Have you read the reviews of rotisserie chicken from Walmart? If you look at some of those reviews on the product page, you will find that many customers are worried about the chicken either being undercooked or overdone. There just doesn’t seem to be any consistency.

Many people are concerned about sodium content, which is also something to consider when ordering a rotisserie chicken. You will be getting more sodium per serving in a Walmart chicken compared to what you’re getting at Sam’s Club or Costco. If you’re worried about sodium content, get your rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods.

I’m not suggesting that you should avoid Walmart rotisserie chicken altogether but it is good to be informed before you make the decision.
