It’s hard to believe that 2018 is almost wrapping up and we are about ready to enter into a new year. Even though we are well into the new millennium, the 90s seem to still be alive and well. That is, at least, if you turn on your television set. Thanks to a reboot of “Beverly Hills, 90210” we are able to relive that moment in time once again. The popular drama that took place in prime time in the 90s involved a group of teenagers that were living in one of the most affluent ZIP Codes in the United States. It was wildly successful and it ran from 1990-2000 on Fox.
Now that the reboot is in the works, it is going to feature a number of the original cast members. This includes Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestly, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris. The executive producers and writers of the show originally worked on a previous reboot and now it is being considered for broadcasting on standard cable as well as streaming networks.
Something interesting about the reboot is that it is not potentially going to incorporate the storylines and the events that ran in the original reboot. One source has reported, however, that the actors are not going to be taking on the original roles. We can only imagine how interesting this could be when all is said and done.
In Hollywood, a number of the actors were seen having coffee together and the speculation has been going ever since.
Luke Perry and Shannon Doherty are absent from the list of cast members. They played main characters in the original series, Dylan McKay and Brenda Walsh. Perry is currently starring on another show, Riverdale.
“At this time, due to his current deal with ‘Riverdale,’ Luke Perry could only guest star on a potential ‘90210’ reboot, and could not be a series regular,” a production source on “Riverdale” told Entertainment Tonight.
Tori Spelling managed to get the rumors going when she posted a picture of herself at the CBS studio center.
“back2work great creative day yesterday with my #partnerincrime @jenniegarth #90210vibes #donnaandkellyforever #besties,” she captioned the photo, referencing their characters on the show.
This should be interesting! I plan on binge watching as soon as it is ready.
