A Forgotten Gardening Tool That Every Homeowner Could Use

Things have certainly changed over the past couple of decades. Technology just continues to grow and it changes our life each and every day.

Technology wasn’t always a part of our lives in the way that it is today. At one time, we would take care of our homes and gardens in a manual way and we took a lot of pride in doing it.

That doesn’t mean, however, that there were things that were developed that could help us along the way. That was the case in this unusual tool that many people have forgotten or never knew in the first place.

The tool was known as a step edger, sometimes also known as a half-moon edger. The T-shaped frame with a semicircular blade attached and then placed on the handle was a practical tool that could be used in almost any yard.

If you are a gardener, you could use your body as an extension for this unique tool. You place the blade along the edge of the turf, apply some pressure and it would slice through the grass to build a clean line.

Many people who use this tool today are surprised with how easily it slices through the sod and makes a clean edge that any homeowner could be proud of.

This old tool may be lost to time for many, but it can still be of great benefit if it is used. It doesn’t require gas, but you do need to put in some sweat equity and you will be surprised with what you gain.
