It’s always a good thing when you are able to entertain others. That type of entertainment may take on many different forms, but sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone in order to do it best.
That is what we recently saw at the West Oak High School’s spring chorus concert when a group of youngsters got up on the stage and performed. It started out with five but eventually, there were seven on the stage performing.
The group was referred to as a barbershop group and they had the name of ‘West Oak HS Men’. Two of them, however, were girls but the entire group was absolutely amazing, both in the performance and in the way they sounded.
They didn’t necessarily follow the rules of a barbershop quartet but they did sing enjoyably and they put on a good show. There was a lot of humor involved, and they selected the song For the Longest Time by Billy Joel.
Throughout the performance, you could see the talent that these youngsters had. There were moments in it when you wished they would just continue with what they were doing but then they would switch to something even better.
