There are many reasons to enjoy watching game shows but perhaps one of the most interesting is the fact that people were competing for real prizes. Although the prizes may differ from one show to another, the excitement is always there, regardless of whether they are winning a new car, a lot of cash or perhaps just an unknown prize behind door number two. It is the excitement that really gets the adrenaline pumping in those contestants and you never really know what they are going to do. Sometimes it can lead to some rather funny situations and it other times, it just elevates them to a new level.
One of the game shows that had some of the highest prizes, especially for the time in history when it was popular is the $100,000 pyramid. People would go through the game show as a team, typically with one celebrity and the contestant that would go home with the money. The players would be given clues, with one of them knowing the clue and the other having to guess it. Sometimes, they just wouldn’t connect very well and they wouldn’t get any of the clues right. At other times, however, it was almost as if they knew all of the answers in advance.
If somebody made it through the entire show of the $100,000 pyramid, they then had the opportunity to play for big money. It continued to get more difficult as things went along but for those who really had it together, the difficulty level was not important. As long as they kept their cool, they could continue to press on.
