Frank Sinatra With A Live 1974 Performance Of ‘My Way’ At Madison Square Garden

There is something interesting that happens when you hear your favorite singer on the radio. In some cases, it may pick you up from being down in the dumps and in other cases, it can just put a smile on your face. The reason why we appreciate the singers that we love so much is because of the ability they have to inspire us and to motivate us in different ways. Of course, some singers are going to have this ability more than others and they may even cross the line from being the celebrity to being a superstar.

One of those iconic singers who was thrilling audiences for decades was Frank Sinatra. Although we don’t have the opportunity to see him live any longer, his music continues to live on and it is just as recognizable as it was when he was performing it on stage. It was a combination of his personality, which was larger-than-life, and his own, unique way and the smoothness of his voice that made him so popular. During his heyday, I don’t think that there was anybody who could have knocked him out of that position. Amazingly, he has held onto that status, even though he is gone.

In the video below, you get to see Frank Sinatra performing one of his most iconic songs of all time. It was in 1974 that he was performing ‘My Way’ live from Madison Square Garden. As you can hear from the video, he was just as smooth then as he was when he first performed it.

There is an interesting fact about My Way that you may not recognize. It was recorded in 1968 and it only took one take for the song to become a legend. I doubt very many singers today could claim the same thing. Watch him performing My Way in the following video:
