When people go to a concert, they expect to be entertained. They may listen to the music of the performer for months or even years, and they can probably sing every song by heart.
On occasion, however, things happen at a concert that may take us by surprise. This includes what happened at a concert when Pink went out into the audience and asked a young girl if she wanted to sing along.
That girl, Victoria Anthony, was a huge fan of the singer and she got her wish granted. It all started when she asked Pink on Twitter if she could get up on stage with her and sing at Rogers Arena. The message went semi-viral, and it was very straightforward.
Quite simply, the message to the singer said: “Hey @Pink , please let me sing on stage with you in #Vancouver May 12. I’ll be ready! – Victoria (age 12). Share this video and tag #vicandpink to make my dream come true.”
Her voice was very mature for her age and you can tell that she was ready to be a performer from that moment. Victoria not only put all of her young marketing skills to work on the Internet, she also went viral and even showed up in the feed of a Canadian singer.
Even though she got the attention, she hadn’t heard from Pink by the time the concert started. She went ahead and went to the concert in the hopes that she could see her hero up close and personal. That is when Pink started speaking to her.
She asked if the young girl was the one she had read about on the news and asked her if she wanted to come sing something. Victoria was all too happy to oblige.
She opened up and sang Perfect a cappella in front of the crowd and Pink was in love. You could tell that she was really touched by her performance that day, and Take even said that she wasn’t going to sing that song because she didn’t want to follow Victoria after singing it.
