Kai Trump has been seen plenty of times alongside her grandfather over the past year, but she has mostly kept her thoughts to herself. At 18, she has quietly built a public presence without really explaining how she sees her family or her place in it.
She is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, and last year she began appearing more often at major events. She traveled on Trump Force One, attended a SpaceX launch in Texas, and showed up at the Ryder Cup, all while gaining attention online.
Along the way, she leaned into golf and social media at the same time. She hit golf balls on the White House lawn, launched her own clothing brand, and continued competing at a high level, including making her debut on the women’s pro golf tour.
Despite all that visibility, Kai avoided talking publicly about her relatives. That changed when she appeared on Logan Paul’s podcast, where she spoke openly about politics, social media, and what she sees happening on both sides of the spectrum.
She said: “I think if both sides met in the middle, everyone would be so much more happier, and I think there’s a lot of this radical left and there’s a radical right and there’s a lot of people that are getting too extreme.” She tied much of that shift to how people consume content online.
She added: “And that’s where social media really ties into it because social media kinda makes your … feed be one way or the other. There’s not a lot of things on social media where you’re very much in the middle and I think that kinda makes some people crazy and some people buy into it too much.”
The conversation eventually turned to her family, including her uncle Barron Trump, who is just a year older than her. Logan Paul asked what Barron is really like, a question many people have wondered about but rarely hear answered.
She said: “He’s a great guy. He doesn’t like the public eye so much, which I understand. But he’s a great guy.” The comment stood out because Barron is usually kept far from interviews and public discussion.
Kai also touched on how unusual her own life can feel, especially when it comes to dating. With Secret Service agents nearby, normal moments become awkward, something she admitted took time to get used to.
She said: “It’s a little weird. I try my best to not let it bother me and I think I’ve learned, especially the past year now to know yes, they’re following me, but also focus and pretend like they’re not there. But the first few months, it was tough.”
