Heartbroken Erika Kirk Tells Painful Wish After Husband’s Death

Charlie Kirk’s widow has been speaking out a lot more since he died, and she recently shared something very personal. It has only been a couple of months since he was killed, so she is still trying to find her way through the grief.

He was shot during an event at a Utah university, and the news spread everywhere because it stunned so many people. Police arrested a 22-year-old man named Tyler Robinson about 33 hours later, and investigators said he had become more political lately.

Charlie’s funeral drew huge crowds at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona. Erika walked on stage with the President, and they talked together about how devastating the loss has been.

She has been open in interviews about the moment she learned her husband had been shot, which she described as completely shattering. She said: “One day you’re collapsed on the floor crying out the name Jesus in between labored breaths. The next you’re playing with your children in the living room, surrounded by family photos, and feeling a rush of something you can only attempt to define as divinely planted and bittersweet joy as a smile breaks through on your face.”

There was also a graphic video online of what happened to him and she said she refuses to ever watch it. She said: “I never saw the video, I never will see it, I never want to see it. There’s certain things you see in your life that you can never unsee, there’s certain things you see that mark your soul forever, and I don’t want my husband’s public assassination to be something I ever see.”

She also said she does not want her children to ever see that footage because it would stay with them forever. She called out the people who seemed to enjoy watching it and asked what they would do if it had been someone in their own family.

Erika talked for a bit about how fragile life is and how fast everything can change. Then she reminded people that there is still beauty in the world and that she wants to focus on that rather than something so cruel.

After Charlie died she made it clear that his podcast was not going to end. She announced: “The Charlie Kirk Show is not going anywhere. My husband’s voice will live on. The show will go on. We will have rotating hosts, rotating casts, rotating people coming on. It is going to be continually the north star of the conservative movement, of the voice of the youth, of the voice of the base, and that will not end.”

Rumors started online about her and the Vice President after the two shared a hug at an event in Mississippi. People pointed out the way her hand brushed his hair and how his hand landed on her hip which sparked even more gossip.

Those rumors got louder when the Vice President’s wife was seen without her wedding ring more than once. Her representative explained it by saying: “She’s a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes.”

Charlie and Erika had been married for four years and they had two small children together. They had talked about adding more kids because they thought they had many years left.

Since his death she has been urging young women not to wait too long if they want a family. In an interview she said: “When I see young couples, I tell them please, don’t put it off. Especially if you’re a young woman. You can always have a career. You can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children, and they grow so fast and so quickly.”

In that same interview she admitted something heartbreaking about their own plans. She said: “We were really excited to just expand our family. We wanted to have four.”

Then she said the one thing she had been praying for during the nightmare of that day. She said: “And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered… I was like, ‘Oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.'”
