We’ve seen a lot from Madonna over the decades, and she continues to surprise us with the things she says and does. The “Queen of Pop” always seems to find a way to spark conversation — and this time, it’s about her sexuality once again.
Looking back over the years, from her Material Girl era to today, there has long been speculation that she may be hiding her true orientation. A recent TikTok video has only added fuel to that conversation.
Some viewers called the video a “historic moment,” while others felt it wasn’t exactly news. After all, Madonna has hinted at being attracted to both women and men in the past.
Several people said they already believed she was gay, while others thought she had identified as bisexual for a long time. For many, it added to the confusion rather than clearing anything up.
Adding to the conversation is her relationship history, she was married to Sean Penn from 1985 to 1989 and later to Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008.
After releasing the Justify My Love video, she spoke about her sexuality during a TV interview: “I think everybody has a bis**ual nature. That’s my theory. I could be wrong.”
She was also quoted saying: “I won’t say I have never slept with a woman but… I love men.”
In a Reddit Q&A, a fan once asked: “If you were a gay man, would you be a top or a bottom?”
To which Madonna replied: “I am a gay man.”
In the TikTok video that reignited the topic, Madonna appears with pink hair and a white outfit. She holds up a bright pair of panties, balls them up, and tosses them toward a trash can.
The words on the screen read: “If I miss, I’m Gay.”
The underwear misses the bin. She shrugs and walks away.
While it isn’t an outright declaration, it certainly raises more questions.
