When we think about the musical artists that fill our electronic devices with tunes, we often think about those at the top of their field. There are times, however, when someone who is not as well known reaches the top.
One person who was the most downloaded artist on iTunes back in 2016 was Dana Winner. You may not be familiar with her, unless you happen to live in an area such as the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, or South Africa.
It was in those countries that Winner became known as the one-hit wonder. She became well-known because of her one-hit wonder, and the group Westwind, which found an audience in 1995.
The one-hit wonder was One Way Wind, and it was one that would take Europe by storm. It was one of those songs that was well known by millions, but that didn’t include everyone in the world.
Dana Winner also had the opportunity to be on a TV program and 2016 and to showcase her winning vocals. That show, Liefde voor Muziek was a television program that showcased Flemish music.
The song that Winner chose for her appearance was Whitney Houston’s, One Moment in Time. It was an absolute perfect performance and the live recording ended up being the ‘most downloaded song on iTunes’.
The associated YouTube video has also reached over 63 million views. When you consider the fact that you likely have never heard of her before, that’s amazing.
