98-Yr-Old Dick Van Dyke Just Set A New World Record

There are some entertainers that become a household name and it seems as if everybody has seen at least one of their movies. This certainly includes Dick Van Dyke, and at the age of 98, he is even breaking records.

You may know Dick van Dyck from his television show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, or perhaps from one of his movies. He has starred in many famous movies that are still loved today, such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins.

When he appeared in Bye-Bye Birdie, he won a Tony Award in 1961 for his part in the musical. He has gone on to make one movie after another and is one of the most beloved actors of all time.

Despite the fact that he is 98 and has been working in the industry for over seven decades, he continues to appear on TV and in movies. Younger audiences may recognize him from newer movies, such as Night at the Museum or Alexander and the Terrible.

As you might imagine, he has slowed down now that he is 98, but that doesn’t mean he has stopped. Recently, he was even nominated for a daytime Emmy award, which broke the record. He is the oldest person who was ever nominated for such an award.

It’s when he played the role of Timothy Robicheaux on Days of Our Lives. He received the nomination for the Guest performance in a Day Time Series Category.

He is up against some competition, including Linden Ashby for his guest performance in The Young and the Restless, Ashley Jones in The Bold and the Beautiful, Alley Mills in General Hospital, and Guy Pearce in Neighbours.

This isn’t his first rodeo, as he is already won four Prime Time Emmys, including three for the Dick Van Dyke show.
