‘Pickle Subs’ Are The Low-Carb Delicious Sandwich Alternative

There are certain types of foods that just seem to be at the top of our list but unfortunately, they may have some built-in issues that aren’t apparent at first. For example, when was the last time you had a delicious submarine sandwich? The sandwiches, affectionately known as subs, hoagies and by any number of different names are delicious because we can put almost anything you can possibly imagine between two slices of bread and enjoy it to our heart’s content.

The problem comes in when you are trying to cut back on carbohydrates and drop a little weight. You have a desire to enjoy the deliciousness of a sub, but you don’t necessarily want all the carbs. That is where the ‘pickle sub’ comes in. Rather than putting all of that delicious food between two slices of bread, you can swap it out for large pickle slices and enjoy the sandwich to your heart’s content. This is so much better than a lettuce wrap!

The video shows you how you can use large pickles and slice them to be used in such a manner. It’s unique, so start with the pickle slices and then layer in the mayonnaise, ham, cheese, tomato and anything else you want in the sub style sandwich. When you start eating this way, you will want to look at it coming together in this video:

If you’re looking for an upgrade to your lunch, you have just found it. These are perfect for snacking at work, or you can make them for a group and watch the smiles begin. If you have a different preference when it comes to sandwich ingredients, just swap them out.

One way that you may want to enjoy your pickle sub is to layer pickled beef brisket inside with Thousand Island dressing and Swiss cheese. It’s a classic Reuben without the carbs.

Another option is to make small sandwiches with pickle chips and tuna salad. It’s an easy recipe but well worth trying.

Looking for something really unique? Maybe you can try some cream cheese wedges and wrap them around a pickle. Wrap the outside with some dried beef and slice them into little circles. What a great appetizer!

You can make these rollups so easily that your kids can even get involved. Your day just got a lot easier.

These are even great for in the kids’ lunch boxes. Just wrap the pickle with some turkey and American cheese and add some mayo for extra yummy flavor.

If you are ready to take your sub to the next level, this is how you do it.
