Many of us wait for a very special time of the year when we can enjoy some of the delicious fruit that is available between May and September. Getting those fruits fresh is one of the best options because they can be delicious when they are perfectly ripe. That being said, we may not want to wait for the summer to enjoy those fruits and they are available in the wintertime. They include nectarines, plums, and peaches and if you decided to pick some up during the colder weather, you may want to read about this recall.
The FDA has announced a recall on nectarines, peaches, and plums that were sold in over 12 states because of listeria contamination. There were 1,727 cartons of fresh peaches, 365 cartons of fresh plums and 1,270 cartons of fresh nectarines that were potentially affected. They were sold in the following retail stores and states.
If you want to verify that you have these fruits, you can check the PLU sticker to see if they are part of the recall. Both the peaches and nectarines were sold separately in bulk and the numbers are 4044, 3035 and 4378. The country of origin is listed as Chile.
If you purchased fruits from Aldi, they were sold in bags from Rio Duero with EAN members of 7804650090281, 7804650090298, 7804650090304.

As of yet, there are no reported illnesses. If you have purchased any nectarines, peaches or plums from those stores listed above that match the numbering, you should get rid of them or take them back to the store for a refund.
