What is the secret to success in life? Some people will say that it all revolves around your choice of employment. After all, we are probably going to spend about one-third of our time during our adult years taking care of our job. The suggestion typically is, do something that you will love and you will never have to work a day in your life. If you are looking for something that you love to do, we may just have a job that is perfect for you.
As it turns out, Mondelēz International is hiring and you may just want to consider putting in your resume now. That company owns a number of popular brands, including Oreo and Cadbury. They recently posted a job listing that was for somebody who would become a professional chocolate taster. They would work for Cadbury and there are 4 people needed to join the taste testing team.
According to the description of the job, those who are hired would be responsible for helping the company “perfect and launch an entirely new product all over the world by tasting and providing feedback just like our consumers.” The best part is, you don’t have to be a chocolate expert to apply. They will provide all of the training that is necessary to qualified candidates so their taste buds are developed and they understand the terminology to pass along accurate information to the product team.
What is necessary to get the right candidate for this dream job? Cadbury says they are looking for individuals who have a few traits and qualities. They would include:
A passion for confectionary and taste buds for detection
Honesty when it comes to giving opinions
Eager to try new inventive products
A communicative personality to build great relationships with your panel
A firm grasp of the English language
To break it down on a simplified level, if you have strong opinions about chocolate, you might just be a shoe-in for the job.
Something else that you may want to consider is that people who have allergies might not be a good fit. The job posting says that those hired would have to test products that include nuts, dairy and gluten.
Most people would think that they would eventually get sick of eating chocolate all day long. You’ll be happy to know that this position is only for a part-time chocolate taster. You will be working 7 1/2 hours to eight hours per week.
What can you expect to receive in return for your labor, other than eating lots of chocolate? The position pays $14.32 per hour for up to eight hours a week of working. That isn’t too bad, considering you’ll be eating chocolate all day and discussing it.
Then again, there is a catch (isn’t there always?). You might need to relocate, because the job is only for those who are in the United Kingdom. Then again, we may just be happy to relocate to another country if it means tasting chocolate and getting paid for it.
