When I was a kid growing up, one of my favorite things to read was Highlights for Children, a magazine that could be found in most classrooms and libraries. The magazine has a lot of stories in it, along with some fun facts about animals and nature. However, one of the most popular features in the magazine was the puzzles. Kids love working on puzzles and problems, and with good reason. Our brains are biologically engineered to enjoy a challenge. Not only is it fun to work on a puzzle, but it’s also a lot of fun to solve them. Since the beginning of time, humans have been working through challenges.
While primitive man had some challenges like starting fires that most of us don’t have these days, our challenges today are different. For example, you probably had to learn some skills so that you could do a job. Maybe you even went to college to learn your skills. Even if you’re no longer in school, it’s important to keep your mind sharp. In the images below, there’s one odd one out in the similar objects. Can you find them? If you get stuck, don’t worry.
