Tina Turner Gives A Powerhouse Performance Of ‘Proud Mary’ Live At Wembley

When you see a performer that has a high level of popularity, it may make you wonder what put them in that position in the first place. For some, it may be an ability to sing and for others, it may be the fact that they can dance. When a celebrity has both of those together, they have an even greater chance of taking their popularity to the next level. That was the case with Tina Turner, and she certainly showed an ability to sing and dance but she also had a lot of energy that showed through in her stage performance as well. Quite simply, it was the complete package, which is why she is still adored by so many fans.

When you are a celebrity as big as Tina Turner, there are going to be moments in your life that really define who you are as a superstar. One of those is when you have an opportunity to perform at certain stadiums around the world. Tina Turner had that opportunity when she performed live at Wembley. It happened back in 2000, and I’m sure everyone in attendance was amazed at what they were hearing. That was especially true when she performed her most famous song, Proud Mary. Although she was not the first person who sang the song, she is perhaps one of the best known for it. The person who first did it was John Fogerty with his group, Credence Clearwater Revival.

When you see Tina Turner on stage, she is more than music. She is such high energy that it almost is beyond belief. We would expect something like that out of a woman in her 20s but Tina Turner has been around a few decades longer than that. When you compare her style from early in her career and what it is now, she really hasn’t changed much.

There are some performers that come on the scene and quickly disappear. Others, however, stick around for the long-term. When they do, they become a part of our culture and continue to be popular, long after they are gone. I’m sure that Tina Turner has left her mark on history and will fall into that category with ease. See her in the following video:
