Peter Gene Hernandez, better known by his stage name Bruno Mars, has become a global pop music superstar whose irresistible hit song “Uptown Funk” is easily one of the best dance songs ever made. Mars is well-known for his incredible stage performances and music that blends R&B, pop, soul, funk, reggae, rock, and hip hop. Like many artists, Mars did not find immediate success in the music business as a singer. From 2004 to about 2010, Mars worked mostly behind the scenes writing and helping produce hit songs for artists such as Travie McCoy, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Alexandra Burke. However, success as a solo artist was something that still eluded him.
However, in 2010 Mars released “Just the Way You Are,” the lead single from his debut album titled “Doo-Wops & Hooligans.” His song was an instant hit, holding the record for the longest-reigning debut hit single on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts at 20 consecutive weeks at the top. Since that time, Mars has been nominated for 18 Grammys winning 10 of them. There’s no question that Bruno Mars has become a juggernaut in the music industry, and at age 34, he’s only getting better! In this video, we see Mars on The Late Late Show with James Corden, enjoying a nice daytime drive with the host in a segment of Carpool Karaoke.

Keeping with the tradition of Corden’s popular segment, Mars and Corden sing along to some of the artist’s most popular songs as they dance and groove down the road. Watching Mars laughing and dancing to his songs just tells you how much he’s enjoying living his dream. It’s nice to see that despite spending over 16 years in the business, Mars still very much loves what he does.
