Actress Jamie Lee Curtis Criticizes Botox Use

Jamie Lee Curtis has been around Hollywood for a number of years. We remember her from movies from decades ago, and she still is a figure in the industry today.

Perhaps you remember Jamie Lee Curtis as a young actress starring in some of the biggest roles back in the day. These days, she is a voice for Hollywood because of her past and the things she still continues to do.

One of the things that she notices, as do many of us, is the propensity toward having plastic surgery done. Many celebrities do it, some successfully and others, not so much.

It seems as if Jamie Lee Curtis has an opinion on it, and that is especially true when it comes to Botox. When she appeared on TODAY last year, she simply said: “Don’t mess with your face. I put Botox in my head. Does Botox make the big wrinkle go away? Yes. But then you look like a plastic figurine.”

Curtis also said that she hopes her children will follow in her footsteps. She said: “Walk a mile in my shoes. I have done it. It did not work. And all I see is people now focusing their life on that.”

Although she speaks out against Botox now, she hasn’t always been against having a little work done. She even spoke to More Magazine in 2002, saying that she did have a little lipo and Botox. She went on to say that none of it worked!

Jamie Lee Curtis is not the only celebrity to have a negative opinion of this trend. You can put a lot of pressure on a celebrity to try to look perfect, even though they are aging like the rest of us.

Justine Bateman is another who struggled with the situation, telling 60 Minutes Australia: “I needed to google something to do a little research and remind myself of something that happened when I was famous, so I put in my name, Googled my name, Justine Bateman, and then the autocomplete came up which was ‘looks old.'”

At the time, she was only 42 years old and when she looked at the pictures, she could see why they were saying it.

She also says that she feels sad for any who tried to reverse the effects of aging using filler and Botox. She feels that they aren’t enjoying life and are distracted by unnecessary things. In the end, she said: “Forget about your face! That is what I’m saying. Get rid of the fear that your face being wrinkled is going to ruin a bunch of opportunities for you.”
