There is something that is born into each and every one of us and from the time we are young, we tend to do it automatically. I’m talking about dancing and if you’ve ever seen a young child who was barely able to walk begin dancing when some music comes on, it is undeniably a part of us. Nobody needs to teach us how to dance, we just seem to react to the music and it is the natural way for us to do so. Of course, there are some people who never really take things much further than the way they were dancing when they were little babies but there are other people who were born for something greater. These people have a natural ability to dance that just continues to grow.
When we watch movies today, we may hear a song in the middle of the movie and it seems as if it ties everything together nicely. One thing that we don’t typically see in the movies today, however, are people dancing. Admittedly, there may be a musical from time to time but they don’t tend to be as popular as many of the dramas and comedies that really don’t have any dancing. That wasn’t always the case, however, and a number of decades ago, it was quite normal for people to break out singing and dancing in the middle of a movie. In fact, it was even expected. Some of those individuals were some of the greatest dancers we’ve ever seen and that is even a long time before Dancing with the Stars was popular!
One of the dancers from movies six decades ago or so was Fred Astaire. He would sometimes dance by himself and at other times, would dance with other individuals in the movie, such as Ginger Rogers. Those movies are still a lot of fun to watch down to this day and it’s easy to see how much talent Fred Astaire had when he was a younger man.
As it turns out, the talent that Fred Astaire had did not go away just because he got older. In fact, he was given an award during the 1970s Oscars alongside Bob Hope when he was talked into doing a dance. Fred Astaire may have been 71 years old but he still looked as if he was a young man on the dance floor. You can see it for yourself in the following video:
