A song really doesn’t have to be popular in order for it to be beautiful. In fact, the number of songs that we could probably name from modern history is actually very limited when it comes to the number of songs that have been recorded. That isn’t even to mention the vast array of songs that never made it into the recording studio. Some of these may have been actual masterpieces but unfortunately, we will never have the opportunity to enjoy them for ourselves. They may live and die with the individual who wrote them and never became famous enough for it to be put in front of the masses.
One interesting song that became extremely popular and is still popular down to this day is Hallelujah. It was written by a man named Leonard Cohen but interestingly, the song really didn’t do that well when he first released it. It may have had to do with the style that he used when he sang it or perhaps it was the fact that he was not as famous as some of the other musical celebrities that we see online and on the television. When somebody else did the song again, however, it started to pick up steam and before long, it became one of the most well-known songs in our modern time.
Like many pieces of music, people absolutely fell in love with Hallelujah and they started doing recordings of the songs themselves. If you were to look online, you would probably find hundreds if not thousands of these copies of the original. It includes one done by the Live Symphony & Choir that features a 16-year-old McKenna BreinHolt. It is enough to give you chills when you hear them performing.
Many of us were introduced to the beauty of this musical masterpiece when we watched the animated movie, Shrek. Although it was amazing to hear it for the first time, it just keeps getting even more interesting, each and every time we hear it. Listen to the blending of voices and musical instruments in the following video and you will have to agree it is amazing to hear.
