There are times when we may do something to try to impress others. Sometimes it works out, at other times it doesn’t.
A zookeeper was trying to impress his girlfriend when he was working at Lion Park in Parkent, Uzbekistan. F Iriskulov decided to unlock the lock on a padlocked area and enter the lion’s den, but it didn’t turn out well for him.
He was taking a video of himself unlocking the lock and entering the courtyard where three lions were contained. When the lions got up and eventually approached him, things went downhill from there.
Upon entering the area, the lions didn’t seem to be very bothered by the zookeeper in their space. When one of them got up, however, he just seemed to wander around closer as the zookeeper was calling out to Simba.
You can hear him saying: “Simba, be quiet” as everything was unfolding. Despite telling them to be quiet, the lions came closer and eventually, you can hear him shouting in panic when the big cats attack.
Shortly after his screams started, the video cuts off. According to reports, two of the lions were tranquilized and the other was shot by zoo officials.
When the officials arrived at the scene, Iriskulov was already dead and the lions had ‘partially consumed the body.’
Regional police said: “Today, December 17, three lions kept in a single cage at the Lion Park private zoo, located in the Parkent district of Tashkent Region, escaped into the zoo’s courtyard.
“[…] The lions entered the yard, attacking and injuring a 44-year-old keeper born in 1980. Unfortunately, the keeper later died from his injuries.”
