When someone in our family suffers, we all tend to suffer right along with them. It is a case of being empathetic and we feel the pain they are feeling in our hearts. It is especially the case when it is one of the youngsters that are suffering and it takes the entire family to care for them. Sometimes, the suffering comes and goes, such as when they have a cold but when the diagnosis is cancer, it is something that no family should ever have to go through.
In Oklahoma, there is a 9-year-old boy who has had to go through this very thing and his family suffered along with him. It was back in August 2016 when Steven Cotter Jr was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, according to Fox 35 News. His mother, Ashley Cotter was there through it all, including when he took his last chemo treatment and his emotions got the best of him. She took the video of him at that treatment and then posted it on Facebook. It’s amazing to see how he breaks down in tears of joy when his treatments are finally over.
You can see Steven sitting with dozens of empty pill containers. They are there to remind him and the family of all of the difficulties he had to go through.
“You have never seen pure happiness till you’ve seen a 9 year old little boy cry the most happiest tears ever to be cancer free and take his last chemo treatment!!” Cotter wrote. “My baby took his last chemo crying with a smile on his face!!!! God blessed my family! Both my sons have a story to tell!!! Listen and you all will hear of them going further then the stars!!! ❤️🥰🙏🏽this is one of the most proud moments I’ve ever lived!!”
Fox 35 News reports that his mother talks about the big plans he has for the future.
“He always says he’s gonna work on being an NBA basketball player. He’s very passionate about basketball. Through his treatment, that was one thing he never let cancer make him quit. He played through it all!!!”
