One of the all-time great Hollywood icons just celebrated a huge milestone. Robert De Niro, star of such films as “Raging Bull,” “The Godfather,” “Taxi Driver,” and “Goodfellas,” recently celebrated his 79th birthday!

When it comes to the great Robert De Niro, what else can you say that hasn’t been said already?

He’s by far one of the most influential stars in Hollywood, creating memorable characters and moments that have inspired and entertained generations of fans.

De Niro hit the Hollywood scene in 1968, but it wasn’t until his role in the 1973 classic “Bang the Drum Slowly” that folks started to see his real potential.

Not long after, De Niro and director Martin Scorsese would work together on the first of their many successful collaborations in the 1973 movie “Mean Streets.”

However, De Niro would soon receive worldwide acclaim after playing the young Vito Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather Part II in 1974, a role which earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Legendary movies would soon follow, such as the 1976 classic “Taxi Driver,” then “The Deer Hunter” in 1979. Both films earned him an Acadamy Award for Best Actor.

Then after those films, he continued his hot streak with The King of Comedy, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Midnight Run, Casino, and many more!
