@DanielleMuscato may be just another user on Twitter but on September 25, she fired a shot that was heard around the world. In fact, it has become somewhat of an essential reading for those who want to understand more about what would take place in a very particular situation. She did this for the benefit of her gender but perhaps she didn’t think that so many people would chime in.
In the original post that was sent out on Twitter, she asked a very simple question: “What would you do if all men had a 9 PM curfew?” It seems like a realistic question and people from around the world were all too happy to answer it for her. When you see the response that she got, you will be thrilled with what women everywhere came together to do.
Ladies, a question for you:
"What would you do if all men had a 9pm curfew?"

It seems as if there were many possibilities available.
Oh my god. The mind reels. Go dancing? Take a walk? Open the front door without fear? https://t.co/v66MM38Btf

Sit on the beach at night. https://t.co/MEAMr4R91I

Going for a walk at night seems like a popular choice
I’d go for a walk in the dark without leaping out of my skin at little noises. Just thinking about going somewhere alone without anxiety seems like a dream. Is this how guys feel all the time?
— Emma Smart (@IMEmmaSmart) September 25, 2018
I'd walk a city in peace. https://t.co/EhnQY2JI2T

Men may take certain things for granted but women are concerned about them.
Imagine how different ALL of my life would have been. So much freedom! All the places I would enjoy on my own, and going for walks. Spontaneity to just go! I love the way the air feels on my skin when it's warm at night, and I'd love to experience this without a chaperone. https://t.co/qPTuon9zGf

I'd run at night.
I ? would ? run ? so ? much ? at ? night ? https://t.co/ToE2odrFAq

If men were out of the picture, these men would see an improvement in their nightlife
My whole life would have been different, and now my daughter's life would be different. https://t.co/52YCx1K4AN

This thread really resonates with me, and I expect with most women. You get used to a life where people have to offer to walk you home after dark, and that's really sad. https://t.co/L6AMpSHmTj

Public transit. I’d take all the public transit.
— Bronwyn Harris (@BronwynAnn) September 25, 2018
This is an essential thread. Read these replies.
Me, I'd walk everywhere. I'd grocery shop late at night when it's quiet. I'd take public transit all the time and could sell my car. I wouldn't worry about my girlfriends when we were out listening to music, etc. Beach at night. https://t.co/LlOVPk7DxW
— Leslie Poston (@leslie) September 30, 2018
Long, calm, solo nighttime walks. That would be amazing.
— Bronwyn Harris (@BronwynAnn) September 25, 2018
Some men also came to Twitter to sound off on this thread.
I’m a white guy who regularly visits other countries by himself, walking city streets after midnight while listening to music on my headphones while not speaking the language. Never even occurred to me that this was a gender privilege.
— Randall Stephens ?️? (@DrBeagleman1) September 26, 2018
As it turns out, the list of nighttime activities just kept brewing.
Oh, to enjoy a drink alone in a bar! Just me, my book and an excellent bartender.
— kidamy (@kidamy) September 25, 2018
can you imagine getting up to go to the bathroom and leaving your drink sitting there, knowing when you get back that you're not going to fall unconscious. Or getting as drunk as you want and stumbling home, no fear of being followed. that's twilight zone shit.
— HM Esmerie (@lizardwedding) September 29, 2018
Men should start believing in women when they talk about their fears.
I've tried to explain this feeling, these feelings, to men, and always been told I'm exaggerating, but look at every woman on this thread, look at what we are saying. What would we do? We'd feel safe. We'd live. https://t.co/5YLZcX47OP
— AuroraBorealice (@AuroraBorealice) September 26, 2018
Also I would go out dancing, drink and dance and not constantly monitor myself? And not wait up for everyone to text back that they got home okay? Just to see what it’s like, just once.
— Erynn Brook (@ErynnBrook) September 26, 2018
As long as everything else stays open past 9…go live my best life!
Go to the grocery store
Go for a walk in the park
Drive out to where the light pollution ends & look at the stars
Go to bars & take a ride share home while drunk
Go outside & forget my phone at home & not worry— OR4Now (@Or4Now) September 25, 2018
Do men even know just how afraid women are of them? I think MOST men have no clue as to how limited and cautious women live their lives for fear of men. #MeToo https://t.co/TX0XdkYGJ2

Women need to be ever vigilant in this world
Wow, I feel horrible right now. None of this has ever occurred to me as an issue. I run, I go do whatever I want whenever I want.
Why aren't women filled with uncontrollable rage all the time?
— Houston Wolf (@houstonwolf) September 26, 2018
We are.
To paraphrase @IjeomaOluo:
"It is very hard to survive as a woman in this world, and I remember saying once that if I stopped to feel, really feel, the pain of the oppression I encountered, I would start screaming and I would never, ever stop."https://t.co/0vA3F2r3mL
— Danielle Muscato (@DanielleMuscato) September 26, 2018
Run with both earbuds in, AT NIGHT. Not cross the road to the other sidewalk. I wouldn't worry about keeping my phone in my hand and locking my door the second I got inside the car. Walk in the woods, because it's beautiful at night. https://t.co/NEQ73e8ltK
— Karma Brown (@KarmaKBrown) September 27, 2018
No question about it, we need to improve as a culture.
Oh my god this thread. Almost every woman says they walk with their keys between their fingers. 🙁 Society, we have a lot of work to do https://t.co/MEKKIhq61D
