When we get married, it is ’till death do we part’ and most of us agree with it at that point. There are times, however, when we may be pushed to the limit and we decide to call it quits.
That is what one woman did when she got tired of supporting her freeloading husband. She said that he wasn’t providing enough as a family man so she decided to cut her losses after supporting him for years.
The thing that she didn’t know was that one day after the divorce was final, the man would come into some money. It was unexpected, as he won $273 million in the lottery.
Prior to the time that they got divorced, the woman was supporting her husband who was broke and unemployed for an extended amount of time. He would essentially stay home and take care of the family pet.
When she decided that it was finally enough and she was going to move on, she got the surprise of her life. He won the lottery, and she wasn’t getting a penny of it.
There’s a lot of irony to this particular story. For one thing, the location where he purchased the lottery ticket was actually a special place for the two of them, because it is where he proposed. Turns out she must be a good luck charm for him.
Most of us would be frustrated, to say the least, if this happened to us. She is taking it in stride and doesn’t want any of his money but she does have one request.
She has to pay spousal support that was ordered by the courts and she would like to have that revoked. I think that it’s a small thing to ask, considering the circumstances.
