How often do you think about your eyebrows? From what I know, women are more concerned about making sure their eyebrows are well-groomed than men are. I do know that my teenage stepson also likes to have his eyebrows groomed, and many businessmen do as well. As for me, I guess I’m just a brute because I have no interest in it. The thought of tweezers makes me cringe with anticipated pain. However, some folks like to get creative with their eyebrows and hey, that’s great if it makes them happy. The fact is, when it comes to facial features, few show our emotions like our eyebrows do.

There is a scientific biological purpose behind why we even have eyebrows. According to the experts, eyebrows serve as a sort of a natural sweatband and work to keep sweat out of our eyes. That seems to be their main function. The arched shape and the directions of the hair help direct moisture toward the sides of our faces, also. This serves to keep the moisture away from our eyes while we’re fighting off tigers and lions as cavemen. Or in the case of modern humans, walking in the rain or working out. After all, think about what a pain it would be if we didn’t have eyebrows or a natural sweatband.

Another thing is that eyebrows help us communicate better with other people. We can use our eyebrows to express emotions like surprise, anger, confusion, and happiness. When it comes to people getting creative with their eyebrows, apparently the crazy eyebrow gold comes from mugshots.
