The loss of a celebrity is going to have an impact on people far and wide. It is not only the fact that we have lost someone we care for, we will never have the opportunity to see something new come from them that entertains us.
Barbara Rush is a Golden Globe-winning actress who recently passed away at the age of 97. Her daughter, Claudia Cowan confirmed that her mother peacefully passed away.
In speaking of the famous actress who played in movies, such as It Came from Outer Space and Peyton Place, she said: “My wonderful mother passed away peacefully this evening at 5:28. I was with her this morning and I know she was waiting for me to get home safely for the crossing.
“It is fitting that she chose to leave at Easter as it was one of her favorite holidays and of course, Easter will now have a deeper meaning for me and my family.”
In January, Cowan posted a tribute to her mother on Instagram, saying that she “shines like the moon and shines like the sun.
“Her age will not change the sparkle in her eyes, the kindness in her heart, or the knowledge in her soul. To me, she’s 97 years old.”
Over the years, Barbara Rush has worked with many famous actors, including Marlon Brando and Dean Martin. Her big break came when she started in the sci-fi horror film, It Came from Outer Space in 1953. She won the Golden Globe for best newcomer for her part in that film.
She would later star with Frank Sinatra in Come Blow Your Horn (1963) and Robin and the Seven Hoods (1964).
Her death marks the end of a rather remarkable career. We will miss what she offers to us, but we also appreciate that she leaves behind a legacy for us to enjoy.
May she rest in peace.
