Watson And Radcliffe Spurn J.K. Rowling’s Stand On Transgenders And She Will Never Forgive Them

Harry Potter has brought a lot of people to fame and, as such, they have the ability to influence many online. This includes the author of the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling, and some of those who played part in the movie, including Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe.

In recent years, Rowling has been very vocal about her feelings regarding the transgender community. She has often said things that show that she feels it is ridiculous, including sharing a link to an article recently.

It seemed as if Rowling was making fun of the trans community when she shared the article entitled: “Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.”

She then commented: “‘People who menstruate’. I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”

After her comments, the online community was quick to draw a line in the sand and Watson and Radcliffe also offered support to the transgender community.

For one, Radcliffe gave an apology to the LGBTQ+ community. He said that he was sorry for ‘the pain’ that may have been caused to the community.

Watson, who has a lot of trans followers wrote that she and ‘so many other people around the world see you, respect you and love you for who you are’.

This is the first time that Rowling has made waves that have negatively affected those in the trans community. In one post on X, she called pediatrician Dr. Hilary Cass’ report ‘the most robust review of the medical evidence for transitioning children that’s ever been conducted’.

Rowling then added that the findings showed ‘kids have been irreversibly harmed’. And then went on to say: “Thousands are complicit, not just medics, but the celebrity mouthpieces, unquestioning media and cynical corporations.”

After posting, one respondent said: “Just waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology … safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them …”

Rally had a response that surprised many. She said: “Not safe, I’m afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.”

It will be interesting to see where this goes next.
