Walk Through The Treetops In Tennessee On The Amazing ‘Skywalk’ Bridge

When you stop to take a look at the world around you, there is no doubt that you will be amazed at what you see. It doesn’t matter where you live or how far you can travel, there is going to be enough in that part of the world to keep you busy for a lifetime. Of course, just because we are limited to one part of the world does not mean that we can’t enjoy things that are elsewhere. We have the internet and what we can watch on TV that allows us to see things that we could never hope to see in person.

More than likely, you have a personal ‘bucket list’ of places you would like to see in your lifetime. If you haven’t included the Great Smokey Mountains in that list, you really should consider adding it. After all, there are so many beautiful things to see in that part of the world and the Gatlinburg Skylift, SkyDeck and the SkyBridge are included. They offer visitors the ability to see things that would not typically be seen by the average person. Perhaps that is why they set aside the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, which protects about 187,000 acres of virgin forest.

Back in 1954, they opened the Gatlinburg Sky Lift to the public. Although there are many attractions to be seen in the Smokey Mountains, this is one of the oldest in operation. It requires a 20 minute walk round-trip but the views from the walk and the SkyDeck are not to be missed.

The SkyDeck is a more recent addition to the park and it gives you a panoramic view of the park in a relaxed setting.

You can also enjoy the SkyBridge, which was completed in 2019. SPanning 680 feet, it is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America. Take your time going across because you will not want to miss the view!
