The Internet has been buzzing with details surrounding the heated debate between Pres. Donald Trump and Pres. Zelenskyy. There was a lot that went back and forth in the exchange, but there is one particular comment that got more attention than others.
It all started during a meeting at the Oval Office between Donald Trump and President Zelenskyy. The world couldn’t believe it as they watched the conversation dissolve into a heated debate and sometimes, some strong words were said.
For one thing, Pres. Trump said that the Ukrainian leader was ‘disrespectful’ to the United States. They were actually supposed to be talking about a potential minerals agreement that could bring the United States into helping Ukraine to come to a peaceful end to their conflict with Russia.
After the Ukrainian president had his say, it seemed as if Donald Trump was getting more and more irritated. Trump said: “You right now are not in a very good position. You’ve allowed yourself to be in a very bad position. You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having the cards.
“You’re gambling with lives of millions of people, you’re gambling with World War Three and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to this country.
“You’re buried there. Your people are dying. You’re running low on soldiers […] You’re not acting at all thankful. And that’s not a nice thing. I’ll be honest, that’s not a nice thing.”
During the conversation, Vice President Vance also chimed in. I think people agree now that perhaps, he could have probably stayed out of it and done better.
During the conversation, Vance told reporters that peace was unable to be reached because Joe Biden got in the way of it. He said that Trump was working with diplomacy but the conversation got more heated as it moved forward.
Zelenskyy: What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you are asking about? What do you mean?
Vance: I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country.
Zelenskyy: Yes, but if you…
Vance: Mr President, with respect, I think it’s disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media. Right now, you guys are going around and forcing conscripts to the frontlines because you have manpower problems. You should be thanking the president.
Zelenskyy: Have you ever been to Ukraine to see the problems we have?
Vance: I’ve actually watched and seen the stories, and I know what happens is you bring people on a propaganda tour, Mr President.
The last statement is what people can’t seem to get over. They were posting about it on Twitter, including some of the following.
Zelensky: “Have you ever actually been to Ukraine to see the problems we have?”
JD Vance: “I've actually seen and watched the stories.”
ON FUCKING TV? SIT DOWN JD.

Fuck off, JD Vance.
You were a goddamn photographer in the military. You wouldn’t know war if it took a shit on your forehead.
You and Trump continue to be disgraceful and utterly embarrassing.

Vance was in the US Marine Corps for four years and deployed to Iraq for approximately six months as a military journalist. He wrote: “I was lucky to escape any real fighting.”
Zelenskyy said that said that he was interested in securing a long-term peace and it is his top priority. The minerals deal was going to be a big part of it.
“We are ready to sign the minerals agreement, and it will be the first step toward security guarantees.”
He also said: “It’s crucial for us to have President Trump’s support. He wants to end the war, but no one wants peace more than we do. We are the ones living this war in Ukraine. It’s a fight for our freedom, for our very survival.”
The minerals agreement has been recently published and it is a framework that would allow the United States to fund the postwar reconstruction.
The terms of the agreement include:
1: Ukraine will contribute 50% of all future proceeds from state-owned mineral resources, oil, and gas to the fund.
2: The U.S. will maintain a long-term financial commitment to Ukraine’s economic development, subject to U.S. law.
3: The U.S. will own the maximum amount of the fund allowed under American legal limits.
