When it comes to award shows, there are many reasons why we may tune in to see it. Of course, it’s always interesting to see who wins the awards and walks home with the trophy, but it’s also good to see who shows up on the red carpet and what they are wearing.
75-year-old Vera Wang hit the red carpet at London’s Royal Festival Hall and she showed people that she may be older, but she still has a lot of fashion left. Cameras were flashing and suffice it to say, people were shocked with what she was wearing.
Many people were happy that Vera Wang wore the unusual outfit to the BAFTA, but not everybody was on board with it. In fact, there were opinions on both sides of the fence when it came to her outfit.
It’s not unusual to see a lot of wild outfits on the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards. Then again, any awards show can draw a lot of attention, and we only need to think back to the recent Grammys when Bianca Censori practically showed up nude on the red carpet.
The Internet had a meltdown over what she wore, and the 2025 British Academy Film Awards was the home of some more unusual outfit choices.
The most unusual was the British star, Vera Wang, who is known for her abilities in the fashion industry. When it comes to style and grace, you would have a hard time topping what she is able to do and her outfit shows that she still has some life left in her.
Vera wore a strapless gown when she stepped out on the red carpet. The plunging neckline was easy to see and it included a nude panel with a long white skirt. It was a little risqué and a lot of elegance.
When she first came out on the red carpet, she had a jacket on but it wasn’t long before she removed the jacket and showed people exactly what she was wearing. Fans of Wang were amazed with what she wore but some were critical.
For example, many people said she looked good for 75 years old but she would look better if she were wearing a ‘more appropriate outfit.’ Others said that she should be wiser for her age and still others said that she had worn her bra upside down.
Despite the fact that she had some haters who came online to critique her outfit, she still manages to turn heads every time she shows up on the red carpet.
Something else that people were surprised to learn about Vera is the fact that she isn’t 100% perfect with her health regime. She said that she gets plenty of rest, a minimum of eight hours a night but she does eat McDonald’s on occasion.
She said: “I have my own vodka [line] and I don’t do Dunkin’ Donuts every day, but I’m not that rigid about food period,” she said. And yes, even Big Macs occasionally make their way into her office.
“I do eat McDonald’s, absolutely. I order it every day, like two weeks on it, and then I’ll change.”
“Basically, I’ve worked my whole life, so it’s really been about work. I think work keeps you young and stimulated.”
