US Marine Joins Iowa Tribe Of Oklahoma For War Dance Powwow

If there is one thing that most of us recognize about the world around us, it’s the fact that things tend to be rather negative at times. We hear bad news on the broadcast news and if we look too much on the Internet, we are sure to find some bad news as well. I’m sure that we all understand that ‘bad news sells’, but it would still be nice to hear some good news every once in a while. When we do hear it, we tend to hang onto it because it helps to restore our faith in humanity and may just put a smile on our face.

We live in a world that tends to focus on the negative but sometimes there is a video that goes viral and it shows you something very positive. That was the case with the video is at the bottom of this article. It involves a Native American powwow ceremony and a Marine that was invited to participate. As the Marine stood out on the field with a man wearing the traditional Native American headpiece, you might even wonder what was going to happen. Before long, however, they were both joining together in a Native American dance and it is interesting to watch them collaborate on the field.

As it turns out, the weekend that this took place is full of a lot of dance. It involves dance competitions, singing, dancing and plenty of food. At some point, flags are brought out onto the field by veterans and they dance together with the Chiefs and royalty in quite a display. It’s very interesting to watch.

Lance Cpl. Maryland Trey Kent brought the American flag out during the ceremony on Friday. He also was asked to join in the powwow, which is what you see in the following video. Watch it for yourself and you will see that not all the news is negative, there are plenty of positive things to look at in the world around us.
