Duck Dynasty is a show that made the Robertson family famous. Now the youngest brother of Phil Robertson, Uncle Si has made a name for himself with an update to his home.
Si was known for his unusual jokes and funny stories but he is also known for being very patriotic. He served during Vietnam in the United States Army and he still has a love for his country.
As he continues to make his home in Louisiana, he decided to change it in a way that would make it more patriotic as well. He enlisted the help of Northeast Louisiana Roofing, and designed a roof that was specific to the American flag.
NELA Roofing is a company with a mission. They want to give back to veterans by providing roof upgrades to their home. It is been a wildly successful program.
In speaking with a local news company, they said: “It all kind of started with us looking to try to do a veterans program through Owens Corning. But we ended up partnering with Owens Corning and we kind of made our own veterans program…If you are a lower-income veteran and you need a roof, we do have financing options available, and we can definitely get you a red, white, and blue roof too.”
Si couldn’t help but admit that he loved the way that it looked. He said: “That’s my house now, okay? It’s got red, white, and blue shingles on it.”
