A person’s birthday is a special event and that goes for anyone, including the president. In fact, he is preparing a military parade in honor of his 79th birthday.
US President Donald Trump’s birthday is on June 14, and he will be celebrating it with the United States Army. In order to do so, he will put on a military display with a parade and other features that come at a price tag of $48 million.
Many people who are on the sidelines are not very happy with the money being spent for this parade, saying it is a waste of taxpayer funds. They feel that the money could be used elsewhere in a more effective way.
Confirmation from the president came in that the day of festivities would include a parade and would be for the goal of honoring the 250th birthday of the United States Army.
Lt. Col. Ruth Castro, a US Army spokesperson said that the parade would include a fireworks display and some 6600 soldiers. It would also include 150 vehicles and 50 military aircraft.
President Trump said: “It’s going to be an amazing day.” He went on to say that it isn’t only planes but they will be displaying many different things. He also shared that this is what America needs.
He wants an opportunity for citizens of the United States to celebrate America for a change. Trump also said that if anyone was protesting the event, the American government would not treat them gently.
He said: “For those people that wish to protest, they are going to be met with a very big force. And I have not even heard about a protest, but you know, there is people that hate our nation!”
