You may be familiar with Roderigo Alves, someone who was often referred to as being a human Ken doll. That individual has now come out as transgender, changed their name to Jessica Alves, and has again worked on altering her appearance.
Alves has considered a number of options for plastic surgery and is committed to go through additional surgeries now that she has changed her identity. Plastic surgery has always been important to her after she dealt with insecurity for most of her life.
She was born in Brazil and was identified as a male on her birth certificate. She spoke about her lifelong thoughts that she is actually a female, and this often came out due to her connection with Barbie dolls. She was often given those toys by her grandfather.
As she got older, she felt increasingly insecure and had a lot of self-doubt about her appearance. That is when she decided to have multiple plastic surgeries to enhance certain parts of her body that may have needed improvements.
By the time it was 2018, she had spent about $500,000 on cosmetic procedures and was now known as the human Ken doll. She was 35 years old at the time and had become a television personality, yet she was still being called by her name at the time, Rodrigo.
Most people couldn’t help but recognize how much Rodrigo looked like the iconic Ken doll, with blonde hair and features that gave that impression. She had gone through a cat eye lift, numerous nose surgeries, and other procedures that enhanced her figure.
When she came out as being a transgender in 2020, she got the reassignment surgery done quickly. She then came out to the world to identify herself as a woman and said that she would be going after additional surgeries.
Even though she is known as a Ken doll on the outside, she always felt a greater connection to Barbie. For years, she said that she had attempted to conform to what was expected of her as a man, including having a fake sixpack and artificial muscles inserted into her arms.
Despite all of that, she said that she was deceiving herself and identified as a woman. She wants to make that a more physical part of her life and is taking steps to do so through plastic surgery.
After identifying as a female, she continued to go through surgeries and has now racked up more than $1 million in surgery fees. She may go through additional surgeries in the future to further enhance her looks and change herself more into a Barbie than she is now.
