Tommy Lee Jones and his family have spoken out following the death of his daughter Victoria, who died on New Year’s Day. The family shared a short statement as news of her passing spread, asking for understanding while they deal with the loss.
Victoria Jones was 34 years old. She was found dead at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco at around 3.00am, after what was reported to be a medical emergency in the early hours of January 1.

In a brief message shared with the media, the family said: “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers.” They also asked for privacy, adding: “Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”
The circumstances surrounding Victoria’s death are still being investigated. The medical examiner is expected to carry out an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
According to the San Francisco Fire Department, paramedics were called to the hotel at approximately 2:52 am. When they arrived, they found a deceased individual at the scene after attempts were made to provide assistance.
A spokesperson explained: “Bystanders were given instructions for CPR according to CAD records.” Despite those efforts, Victoria was pronounced dead shortly after emergency crews arrived.
The San Francisco Police Department later confirmed officers responded to a hotel on the 900 block of Mason Street at about 3:14 a.m. Medics had already declared the adult female deceased when officers arrived, and the medical examiner conducted an investigation.
No additional details have been released, and authorities have said the death is not being treated as suspicious. Officials have asked anyone with information to contact police directly.

Born in 1991, Victoria was the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones and his ex-wife Kimberlea Cloughley. The former couple also share a son, Austin Jones, who is 43.
Victoria briefly appeared on screen alongside her father in Men in Black II and also had roles in One Tree Hill and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. In later years, she stepped away from acting but continued to support her father at public events.
Jones once spoke about working with his daughter in an interview, recalling a moment when he had to be firm. He said: “I fired my daughter. She had to get up at 5 A.M. for her part. One morning, she wouldn’t get out of bed.”
He explained the moment further, saying: “I said, ‘Honey, this is work.’ But she wouldn’t budge.” He added that production staff later stepped in and helped get her to set in time, saving her role.
