In many movie sequels, there are plot changes and some of them seem to come out of the blue. Some Spider-Man fans are now calling for Tom Holland to experience a plot change in Spider-Man 4.
In 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home was released and fans have been wondering what will take place between Peter Parker and MJ. The third movie ends with Dr. Strange erasing Peter from everyone’s memory.
Fans are now calling for Tom Holland to have a male love interest in the next release of the Spider-Man series. There has been some talk about Peter having a new love interest in that movie, but fans want them to take it to a different level.
Rumors emerged earlier that Spider-Man 4 could introduce that new love interest for Peter and it became viral very quickly. One fan even tweeted: “give him a boyfriend”.
After the post was put on line, more than 200,000 people liked it and many comments said that he should have such an awakening. This may not come as a surprise to many who are familiar with what Andrew Garfield said in 2013.
He said: “‘What if MJ is a dude?’ Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking!…So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?”
One fan remembered and said: “andrew tried to get his peter a boyfriend and im sure its one of the reasons he didnt get to finish his trilogy.” Another agreed, saying that somewhere, Peter Parker has a boyfriend.

At this point, there are no references to Peter Parker being queer but there was a gay spider-verse character introduced by Marvel Comics in 2022.
It will be interesting to see where it goes.
