Tiny Dancers Line Up For An Epic Dance Battle With The Local Cops

There is no denying that being a police officer is a very difficult job title to carry. There are going to be moments when it seems as if boredom will just overtake them but suddenly, they are face-to-face with some of the most difficult challenges that anyone could come up against. One of the challenges that they face is keeping the public safe and if they don’t do it properly, somebody is going to let them know about it. They will often be challenged out of the blue to do a better job and sometimes, it is all about being seen in the community as a helper.

Gary Sanders is a Detective Sgt. of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. He is a police officer that is interested in making a difference and the sheriff department posted a video to their YouTube channel with him as the subject. In that video, he was responding to a ‘noise complaint’ that was made against a dance studio. In the end, it isn’t what anybody thought.

Sanders marches right into the studio and orders the music to stop. The dancers are young women who range in age from elementary school to young adults. It doesn’t appear as if they are very happy to see the police officers show up.

It is then that they inform the officer that they are having a dance party but he responds: “The noise is way too loud, and I’m going to have to write you a ticket.”

The dancers aren’t happy with his suggestion and they challenge Detective Sgt. Sanders to a dance off

Even though the video starts out with a familiar scene, it is not from the television series, COPS. They may have done some rather interesting footage on that television show but this is a parody.

It is done as a collaboration between Image Dance Studio and Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. It is an opportunity for the police officers in that county to meet members of the community and to show off a little in the process.

The Image Studio Dancers are completely decked out in Tacoma Rainiers baseball jerseys and the officers are wearing their uniforms. You can tell that an epic dance battle is brewing.

The challenge really isn’t all that strong. The officers do their best but the kids are just too awesome for them to keep up. Eventually, it is all moved into Cheney Stadium. The minor league team hosts its games in that stadium.

Perhaps you remember that Detective Sgt. Sanders was supposed to write a ticket. You will have to watch the video to find out what happens but I can tell you that it is an awesome video about having some community fun.

In the end, there is a special thank you to the children of the late Daniel McCarty, who died in the line of duty earlier this year.
