Music has a way of really filling our lives and if the right song is being played, it can make a profound difference in how we feel and our overall outlook. I’m sure that you have experienced those types of feelings in the past because music is something that just seems to mix with us in such an amazing way. We typically start enjoying music from the time we are little babies and we may even dance to the music before we can walk. When we get older, we still enjoy the music but it takes on an entirely different meaning for many of us. Even so, music still has the ability to move us in ways that we don’t always understand.
Although any song could really affect us in such a way, there are certain songs that just seem to be able to do it in an even greater way. These songs tend to fill our minds and play on the radio for year after year. Although we may have heard it hundreds or perhaps even thousands of times, the song continues to be popular and we might even find ourselves singing along as it plays. There are several of the songs that may come to mind but more than likely, the Kenny Rogers song, ‘The Gambler’ is at the top of the list. It’s an incredible country music song that we probably sing by heart.
When Kenny Rogers originally released the song in 1978, music videos were fairly new. In fact, it was not very often that we saw a music video but when they were released, it often produced a lot of fanfare. Kenny Rogers released a video for The Gambler and he played the gambler while he was singing the song.
The Gambler has been more than popular, Kenny Rogers even won a Grammy award for the best male vocal performance with this song. Even though Kenny Rogers is mostly known for it, he is not the writer of the song and not the only one to release it yet, we remember him for it.
