If you’re like me, then you’ve probably not been to a shopping mall in some time. Let’s face it, folks, stores are not where you’ll find the best deals these days unless it’s Black Friday. But there is a brand new massive shopping mall opening in New Jersey, may have folks booking plane tickets just to go to the mall.
The American Dream Meadowlands Mall is the name of this glorious new monument to Americana with its fabulous shipping and entertainment. It may indeed certainly be worth traveling for as it covers 3 million square feet and will have a 16-acre amusement park, water park, and of course plenty of shopping!
The owners of American Dream, Triple Five Group, are the same people who own the Mall of America in Minnesota and the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada, which are currently the two largest malls in North America. However, they are expecting to welcome 40 million visitors to the American Dream Meadowlands Mall every year!
This destination mega-mall, located just seven miles from New York City, will feature a 16-acre Nickelodeon Universe amusement park with roller coasters that go through the roof! It will also have a snow park as well as the largest indoor water park in North America.
Best of all, visitors who spend time at the Dreamworks Water Park inside the mall have the option of renting cabanas while enjoying poolside drinks. The weather will never be an issue because it’s all indoors, under a glass roof. So there will be no missing out on getting a good tan year-round!

American Dream is scheduled for its grand opening on October 25, 2019 (just in time for a massive Halloween celebration). Triple Five Group says that right now the mall is about 85 percent full of tenants, and more are expected.
There will be nearly 500 services, stores, and amenities opening here, just in time for the holiday shopping season (just try to imagine what Black Friday’s going to be like here). The mall will feature such luxury brands as Tiffany and Co. and Hermès, as well as more familiar staples such as Barney’s and Saks Fifth Avenue. The Mall will also have some really cool options, like a Korean grocery and eatery, H Mart, and other popular newer mall stores such as H&M, Uniqlo, and Zara.

Other attractions will include a CMX luxury movie theater, an NHL-sized ice skating rink, a huge observation wheel overlooking Manhattan, the Legoland Discovery Center and SEA LIFE Aquarium, hair salons, the New Jersey Hall of Fame, a bunny ranch and aviary, the Coca-Cola Experience and a few miniature golf courses for good measure.

If all this is malling awesomeness is making you hungry, don’t worry. The mall will feature over 100 dining options. It’ll even host a performing arts center. This mall is more or less its own city!
And it will have over 30,000 parking spots, with mass transit available for those parked far away. There really isn’t much the developers haven’t thought of here folks.
But then again, they’ve had a little while to think of everything, considering that the American Dream Meadowland has been in planning and under construction since 2004.
Recently, the American Dream held a massive hiring event because it has about 7,000 jobs to fill. This mall will be a tremendous boost to the local economy!
