One of the most important decisions that a woman is going to make in her lifetime is to have children. Not every woman is going to become a mother but for those who do, it’s a path that is going to take them in an entirely different direction.
Donna Mills is somebody who also understands the desire to have children. For years, she was involved in Hollywood and known for playing a number of different roles, but then she decided that she wanted to play something in real life.
She was 54 years old when she decided to become a mother. People were very skeptical and told her that she was not able to become a mother at her age, but she decided to adopt a daughter.
The girl that she adopted, Chloe, became the love of her life. Many told her that she was too old to raise a child, saying that she shouldn’t have a toddler running around at her age.
Despite the fact that people were skeptical, she said “I never felt older than the other mothers who were probably in their 20s.” She went on to prove it.
Most people know Donna Mills because of her part in Knots Landing. She was very successful, but she realized that there was something missing in her life.
She continued to have more and more of a desire to have children, and she realized that it was a big hole in her life that had to be filled. Chloe came along and she was only four days old, and Donna was ready to be a mother 100%.
Donna made a number of changes in her life after adopting Chloe. Rather than continuing to focus on her career, she decided to step away and become a mother in the fullest sense. At first, she tried to balance the two, but eventually, she made the decision to be a mother.
She explained: “I wasn’t going to go out of town for two months at a time. I didn’t become a mother to give her to a nanny.”
Even though she had to step away from her career, she doesn’t have any regrets. She has even encouraged others to have children later in life and to make it the focus of all that they do.
She even spoke about the timing, saying: “If you want to give to your career, I say having a child later in life is better than having a child early.”
She stuck by her daughter for all of those years, attending the events at school from a tennis match to school plays. She was there to ensure that she was a mother to the fullest extent.
Chloe also had something to say about her mother. She said: “Every activity I did, she was there.” It was a bond that they were able to form as a result.
They spent three decades together and the bond that they have is unbreakable. Even though Donna is a very famous individual, she tries to keep their life as normal as possible. Chloe was always her priority and the relationship she built was one that will last a lifetime.
