Fans noticed something emotional during Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral as Sharon stood with their three kids, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. It was the gold chain around her neck that got their attention.
Photos showed a chunky gold ring hanging from it. People online quickly pointed out that it looked like Ozzy’s wedding ring. It wasn’t long before it was viral online.
One fan wrote: “sharon osbourne wearing ozzy’s wedding ring in a chain around her neck while mourning him [crying face], we love you shaz.”
Another added: “yeah, this is the ring they got for their wedding renewal in 2017, he used to wear both this and the original wedding band from when they got married in 1982.”
A third said: “Seeing Sharon wear Ozzy’s ring on a necklace… completely wrecked me.”
The funeral took place in Birmingham on July 30. Ozzy died at the age of 76 just over a week earlier. The family arrived at the Black Sabbath bench where tributes had been left. All of them raised their hands in peace signs before laying down flowers.
Sharon kissed the pink rose she was holding, then placed it next to a poster of Ozzy. Each flower was wrapped in black paper and tied with a purple ribbon.
Sharon and Ozzy first met in 1970 when her dad was managing the band. They became closer in 1979, and by 1982 they were married.
They split in 2016, but got back together months later. In 2017, they renewed their vows, and Ozzy said: “This is the one that I will remember. Sharon and I have been through so much, and this honestly feels like a new beginning.”
