Teen Looks Great After She Crochets Her Own Prom Dress

One of the most important moments in any teenager’s life is the moment that they go to the prom. They will save up to buy a prom dress and the night is always something special.

There are times, however, when a teenager may be limited in what they are able to do. That doesn’t necessarily mean, however, that they have to be limited in how awesome their evening is.

Sarah Akinbuwa is a teenager from Boston who only had $60 to spend on materials. Not only was she able to create something awesome, she was able to turn it into a viral video.

The young artist got busy buying yarn and started crocheting. She only had a few days before the prom was happening, so she really was busy and she made the dress in almost record time.

She was inspired by a dress worn by Zendaya at the 2023 SAG Awards and it seems as if she did a beautiful job. She took that high-fashion dress and crocheted it so that she could wear it as well.

The floor-length, strapless dress had crocheted roses on the lower half and you can really tell that she put a lot of work into it. She also posted a video and it is easy to see just how beautiful she looked when she put it on.

It isn’t always about what we spend on something, it’s the amount of effort and heart we put into it. I would say she did just the right thing with her efforts.
