Wheel of Fortune is one of those game shows that just seems to be getting better and better. Even after the host, Pat Sajak retired, it still continued to go on and its popularity has only increased.
Since Pat Sajak stepped away from the wheel, so to speak, someone else had to fill his shoes. That person was Ryan Seacrest, and he became the face and the voice of Wheel of Fortune, but that might not always be the case.
There have been many speculations as to who might fill the role after Ryan Seacrest steps away from it. One of the people who was on the minds of many is Maggie Sajak, the daughter of Pat Sajak.
According to an insider, it’s possible that Ryan Seacrest will not be the host of the show for a long time. They said: “The whole point of bringing in Ryan Seacrest was to reach more young people.”
The problem is, his contract is not finalized so he still has the opportunity to step away. This leaves the possibility that Maggie might step in.
The insider said: “Sony loves the ratings and wants to negotiate a much longer contract for Ryan, but right now they have to have contingency plans in place in case Ryan simply decides to move on.
“Maggie has positioned herself to help out if there’s a hosting vacancy, and the franchise is in her blood and her appreciation for the world of Wheel of Fortune is genuine.”
Maggie is currently the social media correspondent for Wheel of Fortune and fans tend to appreciate her. The insider spoke further, saying: “It’s important to allow Maggie to develop her own voice when it comes to the Wheel fan base, and that makes her incredibly valuable to Sony TV.
“Maggie’s already proven herself to be a super-valuable member of the Wheel family, especially during this time of transition.”
There is no official word as to what is going to happen next,
but this will be an interesting one to watch.
