Princess Charlotte Beams As William Supports Her Favorite Team

Prince William is heading to Basel to support the Lionesses at the Women’s Euro final on July 27. The Palace announced the trip on July 23, and fans think it might earn him some points at home with Princess Charlotte.

He’s always been a football fan and often brings his two oldest kids to matches. He’s also mentioned watching games with his children during evenings at home.

After the Palace’s announcement, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted on Instagram. The caption read: “Brilliant performance @lionesses! One game from glory! #WEURO2025.”

Charlotte is especially interested in England’s women’s team. In an interview with the players back in 2022, William said: “Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goal. She said, ‘Please tell them that.'”

In 2022, he appeared in a video with Charlotte ahead of the final against Germany. He said: “We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck tonight. You’ve done amazingly well in the competition, and we’re rooting for you all the way!” Charlotte added, “Good luck! I hope you win. Bye!”

They did another video before the 2023 final against Spain. William apologized for not attending that match, but this time he plans to be there in person.

He also visited the team earlier this summer. On June 30, he presented their official jerseys at St. George’s Park, spent time with head coach Sarina Wiegman, and met players’ families while learning more about the team’s prep.

England fans were happy about the upcoming visit. GB News said it was well received, especially after no royal appearances at the earlier matches.

William also went to three of the men’s Euro 2024 games in Germany. He and Prince George watched the final against Spain, where England lost 2-1. Not long after that, William stepped down as President of the Football Association.
