Plus Size Woman Says Airline Bathrooms Are Off-Limits Because Aisles Are Too Narrow

Most people consider flying to be the easiest way to travel but for some, there are unseen issues that may make it inconvenient. This includes the fact that airplanes are not exactly built for individuals who are plus-sized.

Bo Berry is somebody who understands this all too well. As a plus-sized influencer, she shares those problems and more on her TikTok channel and thousands of people follow.

Recently, she spoke about how difficult it was to be in a commercial aircraft. She has difficulty using the standard lavatories because she doesn’t fit within the confined space very well.

Although Bo admits that modern wide-body aircraft are more spacious, including having wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, these are not typically available on more narrow planes. This limits her ability to travel long distances out of fear of needing to use the bathroom.

Recently, this came to light in a flight between San Francisco and Chicago. It was a long flight but it was an extra two hours because of a delay due to bad weather. She almost had an accident on the journey.

After posting the video online, there are many people who are discussing it. Some of the commenters experience a similar frustration, whether it is due to their size or due to a disability. Many of them advocate for better airplane accessibility.

Commercial airplanes are designed to maximize profitability and narrow seating is common. This doesn’t affect everyone negatively, but plus-size passangers may find it stressful when they move about the plane.

Bo didn’t have to share this video but she was very candid and it has drawn attention to a larger issue of airplane accessibility. Social media has gotten involved with many discussions, so will be interesting to see where things go from here.
