There is something about fighting that people tend to enjoy. Most people would enjoy watching a good boxing match or perhaps some sort of cage fight, but we have something even better.
On YouTube, a video was posted of an immune cell fighting an aggressive cancer cell. The cancer cell is deadly but you are about to see that the T cell, or immune cell, is in a weight class all of its own.
I think most families have been touched by cancer in some way or another and unfortunately, it just continues to grow. The American Cancer Society even estimates that there are almost 2 million new cases of cancer diagnosed every year in the United States.
When the video was uploaded to YouTube by Science Learning Made Easy, it showed that the fight is constantly going on inside of our bodies. When you watch the video for yourself, you will see that the T cells are real fighters.
For reference, the T cell is yellow and the cancerous cell is purple. Those immune cells fight off infection but they can fight off any hazardous invader to the body, including cancer. They are a type of white blood cell that is used by the immune system.
Since the T cell recognizes a cancer cell as foreign to the body, it attacks it and tries to destroy it. You can see it happening in the video as the T cell beats the cancer cell.
